Once you arrive in the US Virgin Islands, its easy to get around and explore our Caribbean islands. Select a topic on the left for information and member companies:
Taxis, Limos & Safari Bus Transportation: If you decide to 'leave the driving to others' - Taxis are available on St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix with fixed taxi fares between major points on each island. Check with your hotel or taxi stand for posted fares. In addition to traditional taxi cabs, the USVI is famous for our unique 'Safari Bus' which provide a colorful, open-sided tour of the island as you reach your destination
Car Rental: For those who choose to rent a car in the US Virgin Islands, a current US Driver's License is valid for 90 days in the US Virgin Islands. If you have a license from another country, you will need a 30-day driving permit which can be obtained at your car rental company upon arrival.
Remember that we drive on the left side of the road here in the US Virgin Islands! We also require seat-belts, so make sure you 'buckle-up' before exploring our beautiful islands.

Tommy the Starfish Routes: On St. Thomas - the Virgin Islands Hotel & Tourism Association has posted Tommy the Star Fish signs to help guide you around the island. Just follow the signs to get to the most popular areas for visitors to St. Thomas:
Orange Route: Airport, Downtown Charlotte Amalie, Havensight Cruise Terminal, Morningstar Beach, Bolongo Beach and Red Hook Ferries.
Red Route: Four Corners to Smith Bay including the incredible view from Drake's Seat.
Yellow Route: Crown Bay Dock and Marina to Mafolie.
Green Route: Downtown Charlotte Amalie to Magens Bay Beach.
Blue Route: Red Rook Ferries to Downtown Charlotte Amalie past North Shore Resorts and major Shopping Malls.

Tours & Sightseeing: Even if you rent a car, you will want to take one of the many guided tours offered in the US Virgin Islands so you can enjoy the spectacular views while your guide shows you the best sights and attractions of our beautiful islands
Ferry Service: Its easy and fun to explore the US Virgin Islands by frequent ferry boat service. On St. John, the ferry dock in in Cruz Bay.
Boats leave from Downtown Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook on St Thomas. Check with your hotel or taxi driver for the best place to catch the next ferry.
There is also ferry service between downtown Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas and Christiansted, St. Croix several times daily. The trip takes about 75 minutes and is a great way to combine both islands in one vacation.
Inter-Island Air Service: Scheduled air service is available between St. Thomas and St. Croix from the main airports and downtown seaplane terminals.
