NO PASSPORT REQUIRED! An original birth certificate plus photo ID are still valid for travel to the USVI if you do not have a US Passport (check with your airline for valid forms of identification).
For international airline arrivals you will have to show appropriate documents and obtain all necessary U.S. visas prior to boarding your flight for the US Virgin Islands. Check with your arrival airline for current visa requirements - or contact the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration website at www.uscis.gov.
If you are arriving by ferry from The British Virgin Islands - you'll clear customs and immigration in Cruz Bay, St. John for boats to Red Hook or at the dock in downtown Charlotte Amalie if your boat travels directly to St. Thomas.
