Hiking & Trekking: Hiking is a great way to explore the beauty
and nature of our islands. Reef Bay Trail Hike is the most popular
hike on St. John - guided by guides from the National Park Service.
St. Thomas’ most popular guided hikes &
snorkeling are in the Mangrove Sanctuary at the protected and pristine
outer island of Cas Cay reachable by boat or kayak
(see tours offered below).
On St. Croix, Estate Mount Washington is
popular and there are educational hiking tours during the fall Leatherback
Turtle nesting season at the Sandy Point Wildlife Refuge.

Mountain Biking: tours are popular on St. John
and also on Water Island
which is just off the coast of St. Thomas.
Bird watching: For
Birdwatchers, there are over 160 species
of birds in the US Virgin Islands including brown pelicans, white cattle
egrets, brown booby, frigate birds, Mangrove cuckoos, yellow-breasted bananaquilts, warblers, herons and more...
 The Virgin Islands National
Park on St. John is the center of most bird watching in the Virgin Islands
and is easily reached by ferry from St. Thomas.
St. Croix
has popular bird watching areas in The West End Forrest and Sandy Point
Wildlife Refuge.
The South coast of
St. Thomas is endowed with the attractive and
protected Mangrove Lagoon Wildlife Sanctuary & Marine Reserve
home to nesting egrets, pelicans,
herons and terns.
Whale Watching: If you're lucky enough to visit St. Thomas
from January through April, join us for the annual migration of humpback
whales along the north shore of St. Thomas. Whale watching tours by
catamaran can be arranged by your hotel.
Horseback Riding: Horseback riding can be arranged on St.
Thomas, St. John and St. Croix with a variety of English, Western and
bareback riding. Donkey rides are available in the Virgin Islands National
Park on St. John. There is also thoroughbred horse racing on St. Thomas
and St. Croix (check with hotels for
schedules).

and SNUBA: Snorkeling is excellent throughout the USVI.
St. Thomas has guided snorkeling tours through the St. Thomas Marine
Sanctuary or explore on your own at world-famous Magens Bay Beach.
St Croix boasts the incomparable Buck Island Reef National Monument and St.
John offers fantastic snorkeling along the shores of the Virgin Islands
National Park - where you can also sample 'snuba', a combination of
snorkeling and SCUBA diving.
